Anisha’s top tips on what to pack in your kit bag (other than kit!)

1. A water bottle

As you’ll be getting hot and sweaty whilst exercising, you need to stay hydrated and cool so a water bottle is essential. Remember to keep filling it up and take small sips throughout your workout.

2. Snack

When I was younger, I would shy away from sports because I wasn’t into gymnastics and dance like other girls and because sports such as football and basketball were male dominated, I never tried them out. Exercise seemed tiring and I couldn’t really find my sport, so I never tried to get involved.

3. Hair band/brush

If you’ve got longer hair, it’s a good idea to tie it back whilst exercising to keep it out of your face. I also like to pack a hair brush as let’s be real, sometimes after a workout your hair can sometimes get quite messy, so your future self will be grateful to be able to get out any tangles.

4. Period products

Even when I’m not on my period, I like to keep some pads and tampons in my bag just in case. It also means if anyone has forgotten theirs, I can give them one to use, so this is one your friends will be grateful for too!

5. Deodorant

Keeping some deodorant in your kit bag is crucial to keep yourself feeling and smelling great!

6. Headphones

Putting some music or a podcast on whilst exercising can help to not only motivate you, but also to help distract you if you’re finding a workout tricky or tiring.

7. Jewellery holder

Whilst exercising jewellery can get in the way or even get lost so I like to keep mine in some sort of jewellery holder or pouch in my kit bag to keep it safe whilst I get moving!
