Anyone can be sporty

When we say the word ‘sporty’, what does that mean to you?

Are sporty people:

  • Naturally good at sport?

  • Those who play team sports?

  • Super competitive?

  • Super talented?

  • Really fit and slim?

  • Boys?

The above statements may be what comes to mind when you think of a stereotypically ‘sporty’ person but being sporty doesn’t have a set list of criteria.

Sometimes it can feel like being ‘sporty’ is reserved for people who are amazing at sports but what if we told you that anyone can be sporty? Do you enjoy going for walks, bouncing on a trampoline in your garden, running around the park, working out, or playing team sports?

At Big Sister, being sporty is all about finding fun and happiness in movement in a way that works for you. So remember… whether you’re uber competitive, or exercise for the sheer fun of it, play team sports or prefer exercising alone, whatever body shape you are or gender you identify as, anyone can be sporty.

Let’s redefine what it means to be sporty together!
